Yellow Ribbon Day 2022
Monday, 12 Sep 2022

Tuesday 13th September is a very much subdued Yellow Ribbon Day.
Not tied to any political claims and not as a fundraiser, the intent of the day is to engender a positive conversation about what the 28,000 Rural Fire Brigade volunteers contribute to Queensland.
There are 1,400 Rural Fire Brigades that defend 93% of Queensland.
Whether it be reducing the bushfire risk by burning off, responding to fire or road crash and recovery from flood and cyclone, the volunteer firefighters are the consistent and solid backbone of local community defence.
Today, please take a moment to reflect on what the 1,000 Yellow Fire Trucks and the volunteers who ride them contribute to our state.
