I was born in Leeton, which is in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area in southern New South Wales. I lived in Leeton up until four and half years ago when my husband Geoff and I moved to Oman Ama in Queensland. While in Leeton I worked at an agribusiness and my field of work was in agronomy and entomology.
I became a member of Oman Ama Rural Fire Brigade before I unpacked in 2017. As soon as the opportunity arose I completed the training course and updated my first aid certificate. Within twelve months of joining I was nominated and voted in as secretary/treasurer and second officer.
I’ve held these positions for three years. I would like to see all brigades with the necessary equipment they require. I hope to assist brigades with applying for grants and fund raising.
