Stickers, Smoke Signals and Upcoming Events
Thursday, 18 Apr 2019
Following on from our popular "This business proudly employs a volunteer firefighter" sticker, we are proud to launch the new "This business proudly supports its rural fire brigades" sticker. Available to brigade secretaries and first officers from our Brigade Resource page right now, it is perfect for all those local businesses that make a valuable contribution towards the brigades protecting their communities.
Our latest edition of Smoke Signals magazine was released last week on our website as a digital flip-book and is proving popular, with articles covering our submissions to the Bushfire Review and Legislative review, and our new $150,000 Buy Local Brigade Grants! Printed copies are now on their way, and should be arriving next week.
For copies sent to brigade secretaries, please remember to take your copies to your next meeting so they can be shared around.
September might seem a little way off, but it's going to be big.
Yellow Ribbon Day moves to Tuesday September 3rd, a day for everyone to show their support for those who wear the yellow coat and ride the yellow truck. As always, RFBAQ will provide yellow ribbons free of charge to brigades (via our new Brigade Resource page), along with sending quatities directly to each Area and Regional Office, and Kedron.
Rural Fire Week is moving to September (1st to 7th), and much more appropriate time of year. 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the Rural Fire Service, so it should be a busy week.
