The RFBAQ Management Committee met yesterday and approved the two grant applications that had come in for the month.
$8,180 was approved to supply the brigade with ice boxes, 1st aid storage cupboard, benchtop, fridge, urn and bain marie.
Previous grants from the RFBAQ to the brigade were, 2017 laptop for $2,200; 2019 security cameras for $1,800; 2019 hardship grant to brigade member after large fires $4,000; 2020 chainsaw and whipper snipper $1,400 and handheld FLIR.
Located in the Sunshine Coast Regional Council area the brigade receives a local government levy of $16,000 for the year.
$9,960 was approved to contribute towards the building of an extra bay onto the existing fire station. This will allow for storage of equipment and vehicles.
If your brigade has a project that it is working on or is looking for ways of approving you community defence model, then think about an RFBAQ grant.
