Grants Approved - Irvinebank and Glasshouse Mountains

The RFBAQ Management Committee met yesterday and approved the two grant applications that had come in for the month.

 

 

 

 

 
Irvinebank Rural Fire Brigade covers 307 sq klm and is in the RFSQ Far Northern Region to the west of Herberton. The brigade has 26 members and is located in the Mareeba Shire Council area. The brigade receives a local government levy that amounts to $1,600 for the year.
 
$8,180 was approved to supply the brigade with ice boxes, 1st aid storage cupboard, benchtop, fridge, urn and bain marie.
 
Previous grants from the RFBAQ to the brigade were, 2017 laptop for $2,200; 2019 security cameras for $1,800; 2019 hardship grant to brigade member after large fires $4,000; 2020 chainsaw and whipper snipper $1,400 and handheld FLIR.
 
 
 
Glasshouse Mountains Rural Fire Brigade covers and area of 60 sq klm and is in the RFSQ North Coast Region. The brigade has 28 members and has the honoured distinction of being the first Rural Fire Brigade formed in Queensland. The brigade registration number is 1.
Located in the Sunshine Coast Regional Council area the brigade receives a local government levy of $16,000 for the year.
 
$9,960 was approved to contribute towards the building of an extra bay onto the existing fire station. This will allow for storage of equipment and vehicles.
