Bushfire Season Resources

** If you or your property is under threat call 000 IMMEDIATELY **

Bushfire season is truly in full swing. We have seen many days of Very High and even Severe fire danger ratings over the past month or two. At times like these, many people start seeking information, and it can be difficult to know where to look.

To track current fires, the Rural Fire Service's Current Bushfires page is the place to go. Click here to access the map on their website. It is a very user friendly map, showing all bushfires across the state. The map can be zoomed in and out, and if you click the diamonds you will be presented with valuable information on the bushfire.

Are there any road closures as a result of bushfires? Best resources you have here is Departments of Transport and Main Roads QLDTraffic site. Click here to access the map. It too can be zoomed in and out, and clicking  an icon will provide more information.

After more information? Tune in to ABC local radio by searching for your frequency on their website here, or find you local commercial radio station here. Following QFES on social media is also great idea. Click here for their Facebook page, and here for their Twitter feed.

Detailed information on hotspots and past burns can be found on the Northern Australian and Rangelands Fire Information page here.

Should the kids be going to school? Department of Education emergency closed facilities can be found here.

I have found an injured animal, who can help? Call the RSPCA on 1300 264 625.

A combination of resources can also be found on our website here. All the maps and data you need in one place!
