I was brought up on a farm. Did my jackarooing on a sheep station at Quilpie.
At 26 years old I took an interest in first aid and joined the QATB as an honorary bearer. 3 years later I joined up full-time in 1976 at Kingaroy. I worked at Clermont, Calliope and Mount Larcom. I left the QAS in 2003 holding the rack of OIC and went into business which I sold in 2005.
I then went working as a safety advisor in the civil construction industry until I returned in 2015.
I moved to Nanango in 2016 and joined East Nanango RFB. I was voted in as chairman that year, and elected First Officer in 2018.
