Art Union 87 Major Prize Winner

Our Major Prize Winner Janelle Yarrow gladly made the trip from Ipswich today, to take possession of her brand-new Toyota RAV4 GXL and we were just as excited to be able to present it to her.
Janelle has been supporting the RFBAQ for the past 3 years and chooses to do so by monthly direct debit. Fortunately, this isn’t her first win with us, winning a coffee machine in a previous art union, making that 3 coffee machines she’d won in her lifetime. As a result, the long running family joke was that that was all Janelle was capable of winning. She had the last laugh today, with her commenting, “This is the most extravagant coffee machine I’ve ever won”.
Receiving the call about her win at work caused quite the stir and she soon had the entire office celebrating with her – one colleague telling her “I’ve never known anyone that’s won anything like this” and that it was nice to see the joyous result for one of our lucky supporters.
Janelle has a friend who is a volunteer at the Boona Rural Fire Brigade and says she’s very aware of all the great work that our brigades and volunteers do. She says her support was further solidified watching coverage of the 2019/20 bushfires and witnessing volunteer firefighters risking their lives in the megafire disaster which devastated an estimated 14.3 million hectares across many parts of Australia.
