Oh What a Feeling!!!
Sally Wright and her husband had been joking around for months about “when we win the Prado” but admits they never thought it would be their name drawn out of our barrel. So much so, that when Sally saw the Gympie number come up on her phone, she immediately became excited at the thought of winning a stick vacuum or maybe even the $500 early bird gift card. You can imagine her elation upon receiving the news from our call centre agent Maree, who sold Sally the major prize-winning ticket and who was also there to present her with her new car.
Sally recalls the day she purchased the tickets and says that as is typical with her, she opted for the best value buy that got her the most tickets for her money. She tells us “I chose the 200 tickets for $100. That’s 50c per ticket. This car cost me $100. How great is that!”
Living in Kilcoy, Sally and her hubby say that they are country people who enjoy their quiet lifestyle and are very much aware of how active brigades such as Hazeldean and Villeneuve, are in their area. She also got to witness the devastation of fire firsthand when visiting her daughter in the aftermath of bushfires that tore through the small community of Crow’s Nest in November 2019. She says that it was evident that houses still standing with everything destroyed around them, had clearly been fought for and saved – so buying tickets and supporting the Rural Fire Brigades was a no brainer.
The RFBAQ would very much like to thank Sally for her ongoing support. Enjoy those new wheels!!
