I joined the Marburg Rural Fire Brigade in 2002 when my husband was posted to Amberley as a way to make friends. I joined to be in a support role initially, but my husband had other ideas.
I was the treasurer and an active member until we moved away from the area in 2005, where we joined Thorton Rural Brigade near Maitland NSW.
We then moved back to QLD in 2007 and once again joined the Marburg Brigade for 4 years.
After many years of moving around with Defence, we finally settled in Goodwood QLD, and joined the Goodwood Brigade in 2018 before moving to Gregory River Brigade in late 2019.
In 2020 our eldest daughter also joined.
I became the treasurer in 2020 and in 2023 was elected as 1st Officer.
In 2021 I was invited to join the area training team, where I have had the privilege of sharing knowledge and my passion for the service.
