Submissions to the DISASTER MANAGEMENT AND OTHER LEGISLATION AMENDMENT BILL 2024 close this Friday, 15th March at 10am.

The RFBAQ wrote asking for an extension to the very small amount of time given for brigades to make their voices heard, and it would appear that the Government gave Parliament a very small amount of time to hold the committee process.

A much smaller time than was given to the SES who received new and empowering legislation, not the re-write of an amendment of already dated legislation that has been presented to Rural Fire.

We encourage all brigades, brigade members and other external and private fire agencies to read the bad draft legislation and make a submission in the very limited time available.

Submissions can be made at the Community Safety and Legal Affairs Committee website here.
