The RFBAQ Management Committee met today and approved the three grants that were tabled.
North Millstream RFB on the Atherton Tablelands has 12 active members and 3 support members. They were approved for $4,498 to buy locally a ride on mower and brush cutter. Previously the brigade has received a FLiR and Buy Local Grant of $4044.35 from the RFBAQ.
Gemfields RFB in the Emerald RFSQ Area has 18 active members and 3 support members, and was approved for $5,000 for road base to stop their carpark area getting swamped at their Sapphire fire shed. Previously the brigade has received $5,000 to complete a training room on the fire shed, a grant for a laptop, a communication grant and Buy Local Grant.
Northern Region Operations Support Group has 40 active members and was approved for $5,635 towards a portable oven. NROSG holds about 500 frozen meals and this portable oven will allow hot food to be provided during fire, flood or cyclone. Previous grants have been a Buy Local Grant of $4,277, a portable, potable water tank and pump for $19,194.50.
In the last financial year, the RFBAQ has provided $866,163.98 ex GST to brigades through the donation of the FusionCruiser, Buy Local Brigade Grants, Standard Grants, Brigade Resource packs and Brigade Specific Donations.
Over the last 5 years the RFBAQ has provided over $6 million, which is a phenomenal achievement for a small state-based charity.
That’s real, on the ground support and improvement for brigades and brigade members across Queensland and shows that the objects of the Association are being met –
