Notification of results in 2023 RFBAQ Election process

Nominations for the 2023 RFBAQ election closed on Monday 22nd May.

 
Every registered Rural Fire Brigade will receive a letter over the next week detailing what has happened or not happened in their RFSQ Area.
 
There are three areas that are having elections – North West, Rockhampton and Maryborough. 
 
In the North West Area there were two nominations:
Nellie Baron, from Charters Towers RFB, and
Gaven Bunker, from Mount Isa RFB.
 
In the Rockhampton Area there were two nominations:
Robert Lang, from Nankin RFB and Great Keppel Island RFB, and
Trevor Caunt, from Coowonga RFB.
 
In the Maryborough Area there were two nominations:
Lesley Brand AFSM, from Brooweena District RFB, and
Sandra Brown, from Theebine RFB.
 
Ballot papers are being sent to all registered Rural Fire Brigades in each of these three RFSQ Areas. These ballot papers must be received by the Returning Officer by July 24th. Late ballots will not be counted.
 
Ballot papers will be opened and counted by Tony Perrett MP, Member for Gympie at the RFBAQ Office.
 
Bundaberg - David Morton was the only nomination, so Dave is returned.
 
Barcaldine - Cam Tindall was the only nomination, so Cam is returned.
 
Burnett - David Black was the only nomination, so David is returned.
 
Caboolture - Ian Swadling AFSM was the only nomination, so Ian is returned.
 
Darling Downs - Gary Patzwald was the only nomination, so Gary is returned.
 
Emerald - Peter Simpson was the only nomination, so Peter is returned.
 
FNR Northern - Barry Child was the only nomination, so Barry is returned.
 
FNR Southern - Les Green AFSM was the only nomination, so Les is returned.
 
Gladstone - Pat Noye was the only nomination, so Pat is returned.
 
Mackay - No nominations. Matt White will remain the rep until September and at the start of the General Meeting this position will be vacant.
 
South Coast - Ben Heilbronn was the only nomination, so Ben is returned.
 
Sunshine Coast - Ian Pike AFSM was the only nomination, so Ian is returned.
 
Townsville - Warren Kelly did not re-nominate, and we received a nomination from Jim Besgrove from Rangewood RFB. Warren will remain as rep until September and Jim will be the rep from the start of the General Meeting.
 
Warrego - Nicholas Swadling was the only nomination, so Nick is returned.
 
West Moreton - Angela Endres was the only nomination, so Angela is returned.
 
Western Rivers - Catherine Duddy was the only nomination, so Cath is returned.
