The RFBAQ State Executive met in Cairns on the weekend of the RFSQ Summit and selected Booie Rise RFB, in the Burnett RFSQ Area, to be the brigade that receives the FusionCruiser.

Located north of Nanango and east of Kingaroy, Booie Rise RFB is an active brigade that has 22 brigade members and covers both sides of the Burnett Highway. The brigade currently has a 2014 single cab medium attack and a 2022 Ford Ranger, which they will swap for the FusionCruiser.

Once the radios have been swapped out of Booie Rise’s current Light Attack and the new decals and RFB fleet number have been allocated and applied the brigade will receive the vehicle. It is planned for this to happen within the next month.

The FuisionCruiser is 100% funded by donations to the RFBAQ and the stowage, lightbars and radios were kindly supplied by RFSQ as was the fuel, accommodation and maintenance for the feedback tour with brigades.

This is the 9th Landcruiser Light Attack that the RFBAQ has given to brigades over the last 3 years and the 12th  vehicle in total with both Birdsville RFB and Burketown RFB receiving Town Heavy Attack fire trucks and Murphys Creek RFB receiving the MercedesBenz Light Attack (see below for an overview of the other 11!).

All of these critical emergency vehicles are owned by the brigades that have received them with insurance, fuel and maintenance covered by the Rural Fire Service Queensland.

Are you a brigade without a truck and would like to become a truck brigade?
