Tax deductible donations have been coming in from both business and private individuals. Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Michelin Tyres Australia are two of the major corporate donors to date with Queensland Rail currently raising funds for the new Birdsville and Burketown fire trucks.
At a cost of $454,333 + gst each, the Rural Fire Heavy Attack appliance design has been developed by Rural Fire Brigades over the last 18 months and is now ready for production.
Carrying 3,000 litres of water and capable of fighting bushfires, grass fires, and building fires; able to carry road crash rescue gear, incident control and support packs and for local aerodrome response, this four-wheel drive fire truck also has a Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS).
Donations are tax deductible and 100% of the money raised will be used to purchase 2 Rural Fire Heavy Attack appliances.
